A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of decorating an outdoor birthday party for my party loving, party throwing friend! There is nothing more exciting than to throw a party for a friend that you know will appreciate it. When you have good food, sweet company, and a beautiful setting, you can guarantee a special party!
When it comes to party planning I tend to stress over the idea, put it on the back burner, and then cram all the finalizing of details into the last week or so. This party took a bit more time due to coordinating materials, borrowed decor, and menu. After making a list of necessary items, and then sharing it with friends, it came together beautifully! Some flowers, vintage napkins, locally sourced food & good company made for a great evening.

Succulent party favors at each place setting, and
blankets and pillows for lounging, greeted each guest.

It was all about the details with this party. Organization made for easy entertaining throughout the evening. A good seating layout, some background music, and lots of drink options made for a laid back evening under the stars.

As the sun was setting, the scene was magical. It also helped that the landscaping and home were on point! The success of this party was because of friends who were willing to host, coordinate decor items, help set up in the blazing sun, and all the guests who came to love on the birthday girl! Isn't that what life is about, moments like this with your friends and family?! If we could all slow down more often, we may gain a new perspective on life. Less social media, less work, less running from one commitment after the other and more time to slow down for those special people in our lives!

{Designer Tip}: Always keep the birthday guy/girl as the center of the theme, and make sure the favors and food are items they'd be proud of. That will ensure a happy friend and guests.
I'd love to hear from you! What are some of your favorite party memories or traditions? Are there any places you've enjoyed throwing a party? Any tips for party planning you'd like to share?
Cheers to all those good summer nights under the stars!!!
